A whole excellent new season of wrenching with women!
We are all geared up and ready to roll...er, bike...no, Wrench!
We are currently running our last session of the season, but don't despair: it'll all start up again in April 2010!!
Wenches with Wrenches is an ongoing program of CBN volunteers hosting bicycle repair workshops run by and for women in downtown Toronto. The idea has been to make basic bicycle repair skills accessible to women, in the hope that participants will then share their knowledge and their confidence with others in the community.
Wenches with Wrenches brings women together in a safe, non-competitive and friendly learning environment. The workshops are run by women for women because, many times, women are just more comfortable learning from other women.
Courses are held at CBN in the evenings once a week from 6:30 to 8:30PM. Classes combine “The Lesson” of the day and a hands-on application of what is taught (your chance to fix your bike yourself!).
Prices:
$45.20 for the regular 4-week session
$16.95 per class for individual Advanced Classes, or $33.90 for all three.
Here is a sample of what will be covered :
Lesson 1 : Bike fit and Bike Parts
Lesson 2 : Flat Fix
Lesson 3 : Brakes
Lesson 4 : Gears / Drivetrain
ADVANCED CLASSES ONCE A YEAR

Volunteer!
Wenches With Wrenches is run by volunteers and we are always looking for more people to join our group! You don't need any mechanical experience to become a Wench; just a smile and a readiness to help out and learn. Being a volunteer is a good way to gain valuable experience in bicycle mechanics should you want to further your education, ability and skill sets. We also encourage volunteers to take on a larger role in becoming instructors or organizers. Please email us if you are interested.
